Our studio offers a unique experience, located within beautifully curated Balinese inspired gardens, surrounded by palm trees and native birds. Our grounds bring a sense of tranquility and a calm setting to practise, reset and come back to yourself. We have an indoor studio and an outdoor yoga shala.

Wendy Douglas
Yoga Teacher - Yin + Ashtanga
​
Wendy was first introduced to Ashtanga Yoga over 20 years ago & has been teaching this, alongside Yin Yoga in Matakana for the past 3 years. Wendy encourages and uplifts people in their day to day lives and brings fun and lightness to the practice of yoga. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience to help people fully connect with their whole selves.
Wendy has also taught at retreats and festivals as well as working with corporate clients and one on one. Wendy has an insatiable appetite for life and boundless energy and looks forward to welcoming you to her classes with open arms.
Wendy is inspired by her family and diverse group of friends around the world, all navigating our individual journeys and sharing wisdom, insights, stories, vulnerability, sadness, joy and love”.

Mai Barton
Pilates Teacher

Mai's passion for the practice of Pilates began over 20 years ago in her home country of Argentina. From day one she was hooked! Due to this passion and her desire to share her experiences and knowledge, Mai completed her Mat Pilates training with Polestar Pilates in early 2021. She brings an essence of curiosity about the connection between body, mind and spirit to every class.

Mai also understands how movement & food can positively impact all these three areas with her work as a plant- based cook, sharing her passion through cooking workshops and private catering.
Mai is completing her 200 Yoga hour teaching training this year with Inspire Yoga Teacher Training NZ.
​
Mai’s classes focus on establishing a strong foundation to your practice, offering options to progress movements but making sure you move safely. Her goal is to help people become more aware of their body in their daily movement and approach mobility as a long term journey.

Nic Magerkorth
Yoga Teacher - Vinyasa

Nikola Magerkorth is an advocate for ‘healing the whole. With a passion for movement and wellbeing, Nikola has dedicated the last decade of her life to living and studying the Sister Sciences of Naturopathy and Yoga, channelling these ancient healing arts into modern-day life-enhancing offerings.

With a corporate background in communications and a BA from The University of Otago, Nikola is a registered, and qualified Naturopath, Medical Herbalist and Yoga Teacher offering a holistic and therapeutic approach to her yogic teachings and naturopathic philosophy.
​
Living and breathing her values and principles, Nikola is a compassionate and holistic Yoga Teacher, who crafts thoughtful, dynamic sequencing with a great emphasis on Pratyahara (turning inward), Pranayama (breath control), Yoga Philosophy, well aligned Asana (yoga poses), in both Vinyasa and Yin yoga.
With over a decade of dedicated practice to Yoga, and experiencing first-hand the healing benefits to the body and mind of her natural crafts, Nikola is passionate about sharing her love of Yoga, Naturopathy and Well-being with others.

Alex Davids
Yoga Teacher - Vinyasa

Alex Davids has been practising Yoga Asana for over 20 years. Her passion has grown immensely through the study of Yogic philosophy, bringing the foundations of Yoga into her daily life, family and business.
​
Alex focuses on the connection between body, mind and spirit through her practice and loves working with her students to bring meaning to their practice at any given moment. She typically teaches a strong Vinyasa flow class but you can also find her slowing it down in our slow flow offerings or the occasional deep yin.
​
Alex completed her 200-hour Yoga Training at the Power Yoga Company in London and has done subsequent 300-hour modules through Inspire Teacher Training in New Zealand.

Ana Lynch
Yoga Teacher - Hatha + Slow Flow
​
Ana has a deep passion for learning all facets of the practice of yoga, and has so far completed over 600 hours of specialised training in many styles and therapeutic modalities. She teaches from her own life experience both on and off the mat.
Through her passion for the wisdom and philosophy of this ancient tradition, Ana weaves in the science of biomechanics and physiology to facilitate an embodying experience for her students.
​
Most recently Ana has completed 110 hours of training in the area of trauma informed yoga. Science is now recognising the positive impact and direct support a skillfully curated yoga class can have on anyone that suffers from trauma, depression, anxiety and so on. At its deepest level, yoga sees people for their life experince and even those that have shaped their view of life through intergenerational conditioning and thought. This is a level of awareness Ana endeavours to specialise in, and that can be a hugely useful tool for every student in her class.

Her goal is to support you to connect to your body, to develop a relationship with your mind that no longer controls you and deepen your true sense of self.

Hamish Barton
Yoga & Meditation Teacher ​

Hamish is passionate about meditation, mindfulness and movement.
He has been sharing his learnings from his mediation practice and training with local guys and believes deeply in the benefits of sitting in silence, bringing attention to the breath cultivating focus and awareness.
​
Hamish is also a yoga teacher having completed his 200-hour yoga foundation teacher training through the Awakening Yoga Academy. He started his yoga journey well over 20 years ago, Hamish loves how yoga encourages personal exploration, potentiality, and freedom of movement. He is a fan of all types of yoga but in particular vinyasa and yin yoga.
​
Hamish is very much a family man, married to his beautiful wife Mai, they have two boys, Santiago and Tomas. In his free time, he watches his sons’ sport, helps with coaching their cricket teams, mountain bikes, plays tennis, surfs, practices yoga and of course enjoys sitting in silence!
​His personal philosophy is ‘to be present & feel the joy in every experience’.

Monique Parry
Yoga Teacher - Vinyasa + Yin
​
Monique completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2018 and began teaching at the end of 2020. With initially a strong heated vinyasa practice, she soon developed a love for yin and saw others also appreciating the benefits it gave in this fast paced world.
Monique was able to weave skill from her background of travel-nannying and her communication degree into class, bridging her spirituality alongside her understanding of psychology and linguistics.
Monique likes her classes to be fun, meaningful, and creative. After travelling for a few years, she understood the importance of being a part of a community and enjoys sharing wisdom amongst one another. Monique hopes for others to experience the same sense of self trust, resilience, playfulness and belonging that she found within yoga."

Rebecca Leaker
Yoga Teacher + Yoga Nidra

Rebecca has been practicing yoga for 27 years and teaching for 13 years. In 2008 she travelled to India to deepen her understanding of yoga within the culture and country it originated from. She completed 3 levels of Yoga Teacher Training with Ashram Yoga in New Zealand between 2010 and 2012 and additional courses in Pregnancy Yoga, Yoga for Children and Yoga Nidra.
Rebecca has further training in supporting women through pregnancy and birth with Maha al Musa of Embody Birth, is a Certified HypnoBirthing Educator and studied Applied Anatomy for Yoga with Yoga Synergy. She is also the proud mother of two wondrous children.
In addition, Rebecca has years of experience working in social and community services and extensive world travels, which allow her to bring a depth of understanding and compassion to her role as a yoga teacher. She loves making yoga accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, every body is welcome in her classes!
